James C. Justice Companies, Inc.was the 1998 Recipient of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce’s Community Service Award because of his contribution with youth programs in the territory, the 1998 Recipient of the “Soul of Beckley” Award from the Beckley-Raleigh County YMCA, the 2000 beneficiary of the City of Hope Medical Center’s “Soul of Life” grant, the 2009 Charleston Gazette’s “West Virginian of the Year”. In 2010, he was named a “Recognized West Virginian” by Governor (presently Senator) Joe Manchin and the 2011 Honoree at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Blue Ridge Chapter “Supper of Champions”. Jim was picked Mountain Athletic Conference “Mentor of the Year” and West Virginia High School “Mentor of the Year” in 2012 and was named” West Virginian of the Year” in 2014 and again in 2016 by the Clarksburg Exponent Telegram.
In May 2015, Jim declared his mission to look for the workplace of legislative leader of West Virginia. Following 19 months on the battle field sharing his vision for changing West Virginia, Jim was chosen the 36th legislative leader of West Virginia. He won with an expansive alliance of help from Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.
Jim and his significant other Cathy have been closest companions since secondary school. A year ago, they commended their 40th commemoration.
The Governor and the First Lady have two youngsters, James (Jay) C. Equity, III, a Virginia Tech graduate who runs the Justice family’s coal and horticulture tasks, and Dr. Jill Justice, an alum of Marshall University and The Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. Jill is presently leader of Greenbrier Hotel Corporation and practices at the Greenbrier Clinic.
The Justice family has as of late developed to incorporate Jay’s better half, Catherine Grainger Justice, and Jill’s significant other, Adam Long.
The Governor and First Lady are long-lasting individuals from the First Baptist Church in Beckley, WV. They have three canines: Lucy and Ellie, Boston Terriers, and Baby Dog, an English Bulldog.
